We did the 20+ mile hike up the Hoh river trail to summit Mount Olympus. The first day we hiked from the Hoh river trail head to Lewis Meadow, where we camped for the night. The second day we hiked from Lewis Meadow to Glacier Meadow to camp for our second night. The 3rd day we woke up at 3am to do the summit. It took 14 hours to summit and get back to Glacier Meadow for our 3rd night. On the 4th day we started to make our way back to the trail head. We made it to 5 mile island and camped for the 4th night. The 5th day we hiked out.
We planned a beautiful 4 day backpacking trip up Kings Canyon's Lewis Creek Trail. The trip was ruined by swarms of mosquitoes. The hike was hard enough with most of the trail over grown but the mosquitoes made it unbearable.
Backpacking Mt. Whitney in winter conditions in April. We brought snowshoes, crampons, rope, quickdraws, ice screws, a harness, and helmet. None of which we needed. The 65lb packed killed my shoulders.
We tried before and didnt make it. This time we summited Slate Mountain in the winter. Snow shoeing and pulk pulling. We make it to the peak of Slate Mountain in January.
The Palisade Glacier is a 14.3 mile round trip difficult hike. We took 3 days and 2 nights in October. We camped at the 3rd lake.
Backpacking the Mineral King Loop counter clockwise. From mineral king to monarch lake, monarch lake to little five lakes, little five lakes to pinto lake, pinto lake back to mineral king. Three nights, four days, 28 miles.
We camped at lake 3. It took 3 hours to get from the trail head to lake 3. The next day it took us 5 hours to go from lake 3 to the top of Langley and back to lake 3.
We tried before and didnt make it. This time we summited Slate Mountain in the winter. Snow shoeing and pulk pulling. We make it to the peak of Slate Mountain in January.
