Sherman Pass is a beautiful and challenging black diamond trail. Monache is our favorite off roading spot. This is a 4 day off road trip from the Kern River to Sherman Pass, to Monache 4x4 trail, and back to the Kern River. With 2 jeeps and a 4x4 Overland Astro van. For more information visit 4x4bird.com
We took the 4x4 Astro Van and Outback camping at the Picacho recreation park. We explored the trails of Picacho. With a few interesting stops at Palm Springs, Slab City, and The Salton Sea.
The 4x4 Astro Van, the Outback, and Jeep hit the Jawbone 4x4 trail. We took 3 days, 2 nights. The first night we camped at Red Rock Canyon. The second day we took the Jawbone trail all the way to Lake Isabella where we camped for the 2nd night. The third day we followed the Kern River and headed back to Los Angeles.
